My favorite thing about the Homestuck fandom is how amused we are about things calling us terrible.
A picture of someone blacklisting the word “Homestuck” for 4/13? Hilarious. Reblogged.
A rant talking about how Homestuck is the worst thing ever by someone who hasn’t read past the first 10 pages? Holy shit. Yeah. That’s so true. Reblog.

Its my favorite thing about this fandom.

remember when all the homestucks signed the petition to get Homestuck banned from MCM Expo

question for ppl who’ve played the dark brotherhood questline in any elder scrolls game i’ve been wondering this for a while

but like they pmuch fit the criteria for a cult to a t minus the emotionally abusive behavior towards and among their members due to hierarchy but like my question is are…

I don’t think I remember ever encountering something that says you couldn’t in either Oblivion or Skyrim. Like, as long as it doesn’t get in the way of the Brotherhood or Sithis, I think it would be fine.

Disregarding that most people in the Dark Brotherhood would probably not be romantically involved with anyone who is not a deevotee of Sithis.

Sexually maybe.

yeah that’s true but then also i feel like they’re the type of organization that. is like generally not encouraging of that sort of thing because while closeness is ok romantic entanglements could be distracting? and like what if you did like marry someone in the brotherhood then go and get knocked up like what are you supposed to do about that maybe this is an understatement but i can think of better places to raise a family.

i have so many questions.

Astrid and Arnbjorn are married, and they’re both in the Dark Brotherhood. My thinking is it would be pretty hard to keep the fact that you kill lots of people for a living a secret from a spouse outside the Night Mother’s little family. The Dragonborn/ The Hero of Kvatch are both kind of weird exceptions because while they are technically part of history, that history is vague and incredibly variable, and so the narrative can afford to double up on things that don’t make sense, like being the head of every single militant/economic/educational establishment in Skyrim/Cyrodiil.

i know like i just like to play it double life style like oh my husband is a very prominent member of the companions which i am the leader of and also we’re both part of the blades we’re here to save everyone!

and then i assassinate the emperor

it’s like ok the dragon born has serious political views and is playing both good guy and bad guy or they’re just evil and want to play for both sides for funsies or they have a messiah complex and just believe that while dragons and bad guys need to die they’re also helping people by assassinating OR they’re amoral and just want to be on a winning side so opts for both so it’s kind of a zero sum game for them

It’s a weird dichotomy for sure. Generally I play like its different phases in the Dragonborn’s life. A back and forth between light and dark. My dragonborn always ends up being super polite and kind, but at the drop of hat will murder everyone in a ten mile radius.

Well, the Night Mother sacrificed her children to her unholy husband Sithis.

So there’s always that?

i’m gonna go ahead and say that this is my headcanon for them like there’s the five tenets and then underneath on a post it note in red sharpie lucien wrote “^btw all kids go 2 sithis don’t come 2 the bhand abt this anymore we don’t want 2 hear it xoxo darkness guide yall”

Lucien LaChance was the biggest bad ass in the history of Tamriel. No questions. Just facts.
